Nurse Externship Program
Our externship programs have been specifically designed for nursing students to help prepare you for an easier transition into your future career as a nurse! The goal is to ultimately help the you gain a greater level of self-confidence, develop and improve critical thinking skills, time-management skills, communication, and clinical competence. During this program, you will gain a basic understanding of the organizational structure and operations within our acute care settings and the role of a professional nurse. The Nurse Residency Program at Jackson Hospital is designed to meet the specific orientation needs of the new graduate nurse. Components of the program include monthly classes covering a wide variety of professional growth topics, an assigned preceptor, and a structured orientation with biweekly evaluation, Additionally, the program creates the ability to network with other new graduates within the organization and provides the support of program coordinators.

Nursing Student Scholarships
We offer a Nursing Student Scholarship that will help cover your final 3 semesters or your Senior year of nursing school up to $10,000. In return, you are required to commit 2 years of working full time as a RN at Jackson Hospital & Clinic, Inc. We also have tuition reimbursement available through Human Resources to employees of Jackson Hospital & Clinic, Inc. We hope these opportunities will provide extra support and encouragement for current nursing students and give them the confidence in knowing that the Jackson Hospital team is behind them accomplishing their goals.
